Bori Chung
Assistant Program Manager
Bori Chung is a current senior at Bergen County Academies, with a music concentration in the Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. She began playing the viola when she was 11 years old. Bori studied at institutes such as the Meadowmount School of Music Summer Strings Program under Patricia McCarthy. There, she performed in Philip Setzer’s string quartet masterclass and Daniel Avshalomov’s masterclass. Additionally, she studied at the Heifetz International institute of Music Summer Program under Bela Horvath. During her time there, she performed in Shannon Lee and Luosha Fang’s masterclass. Bori has also been a member of the New York Youth Symphony Orchestra since 2019. She participated in NYYS’s debut album, which was ranked #1 on Billboard for Traditional Classical Albums in 2022, and received the 2022 Grammy for Best Orchestral Performance. Bori has been a member of the Back to Bach Project since 2020. Originally a member of the Bergen County Region, she served as a Collaboration Coordinator last year. Bori is currently the Assistant Program Manager for the Back to Bach Soloist Program.
