Violinist Hyun Jae Lim, from Seoul, Korea, has recently made solo appearances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Houston Symphony. Ms.Lim has performed in Verizon Hall, National Gallery of Art, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Miller Outdoor Theater, and Jordan Hall, among many others. She has won numerous awards around the world including third prize at the 2018 Menuhin Competition in Geneva, second prize at the 2018 Ima Hogg Competition, and first prize at the 2017 Alfred M. Greenfield Competition. In 2015, she was the youngest prizewinner at the Singapore International Violin Competition and she was also awarded the best performance of Bach prize. In the same year she was featured on NPR’s “From the Top” 15th anniversary show. As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with such artists as Vadim Gluzman, Gary Hoffman, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Atar Arad, Peter Wiley, and Steve Tenenbom. She has attended the Keshet Eilon Mastercourse, NAC Young Artist Program, Heifetz International Music Institute, Aspen Music Festival, and Great Mountains Festival. She currently studies in Philadelphia at the Curtis Institute of Music with Midori Goto and Arnold Steinhardt.
