Sarah Li, 17, is a senior at Montgomery High School, New Jersey. She first began studying piano at the age of 4 under the tutelage of Tomoko Harada, to whom she continues to this day. Sarah developed a passion for music at an early age, making her Carnegie Hall debut at 6. Since then, she has gone on to receive top prizes from numerous piano competitions, including the Bellagrande International Music Competition, AMTL New York Young Performers Prize Competition, NJMTA Young Musicians Competition, and West Chester Pre-Collegiate Piano Competition. Most recently, she was the winner of the 2024 Joseph Israel Bookstaber Piano Competition and the third-place winner of SMSC’s Grace Gimbel Scholarship Competition. Additionally, Sarah has attended the Bowdoin International Music Festival, where she studied under Julian Martin, and the BUTI Young Artists Piano Program, where she was selected to perform in a masterclass with Emanuel Ax. She was also selected twice to have her performances broadcasted on the radio program Kids on Keys hosted by WWFM The Classical Network. Outside of piano, Sarah enjoys playing violin, reading, and figure skating.
