Toni Cecere
For over thirty-five years, Toni Bilotti Cecere has been involved in the performing arts holding the titles of music educator, clinician, arts administrator, music director, and soprano. Currently, she is on the faculty of Don Bosco Prep as Director of Choral Activities and Liturgical Music, Artistic Director of Chapel Concerts, and Supervisor of Theater Arts. In 2006, Ms. Cecere inaugurated Chapel Concerts at Don Bosco Prep to champion the arts, to provide cultural enrichment to the school and local communities, and to showcase local, young, and world-class talent. Chapel Concerts has hosted such renowned artists as the Grammy©-winning Chanticleer, the Notre Dame Concert Band, New York Philharmonic’s Principal Trumpeter Philip Smith, The Juilliard Trombone Choir under the direction of Joseph Alessi, The Yale Whiffenpoofs, and many others. Ms. Cecere was instrumental in creating Don Bosco Prep’s Young Artists’ Scholarship Competition for high school students to celebrate their outstanding musicianship. In addition to her duties at Don Bosco Prep, Ms. Cecere maintains a private practice for voice study, YouthSong. Ms. Cecere has been clinician at the New Jersey Music Educators Convention presenting on females training male voices, male voice change, and vocal health. Between 1979 and 1993, Ms. Cecere was Assistant Arts Administrator at the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, involved in all aspects of concert production. Most notable was her role managing the career of Maestro Zubin Mehta, representing him worldwide.
